DNA Polymerase

Enzyme responsible for replicating chromosomes, plasmids, etc.

The tendency is for cellular organisms to possess more than one type of DNA polymerase, each used in different aspects of DNA replication.

Note that technically these DNA polymerases are DNA-dependent DNA polymerases, that is, they copy DNA from a DNA template (a.k.a., emplate strand). Contrast RNA polymerases, which to a large extent are used as DNA-dependent RNA polymerases or instead the enzyme reverse transcriptase, which serves as either a DNA- or RNA-dependent DNA polymerase.
