Aminoacyl tRNAs carry amino acids to the A site of ribosomes. The amino acids themselves are added to the tRNAs, forming aminoacyl or charged tRNAs. This amino acid addition to tRNA is catalyzed by the enzyme aminoacyl tRNA synthetase.
