Immature macrophage and dendritic cells.

Monocytes respond to immune signaling by leaving the blood and then differentiating into long-lived cells involved in a combination of phagocytosis and antigen presentation.

Monocytes are non-lymphocytic leukocytes, that is, a kind of white blood cells, that are both rather large and important components of innate immunity.
