Examples of organelles include ribosomes, which are found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Examples also include members of the endomembrane system including the nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, various vesicles, etc., all of which among those examples are exclusively associated with eukaryotes.

Also included among organelles are the endosymbionts which include mitochondria and chloroplasts. Though these specific endosymbionts are only found in eukaryotic cells, there do exist a few examples of endosymbionts that are found instead within prokaryotic cells.
