Pharmacokinetics

The impact of the body on drugs.

Pharmacokinetics traditionally is differentiated into four distinct phenomena which are known as absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion.

Pharmacokinetics describes the potential for drugs to reach as well as sustain minimal rherapeutic densities in the vicinity of target tissues. That is, drugs are dosed, they move towards target tissues via a combination of absorption and distribution, and at the same time are reduced in density through a combination of dilution, metabolism, and excretion.
