Pluralistic Species Concept

Means of distinguishing among different types of organisms that considers all relevant criteria.

That is, the pluralistic species concept borrows for the various more narrowly focused species concepts, and this is done to achieve, ideally, a more robust means by which species may be distinguished. It is important to keep in mind, however, that in most cases it is quite easy to distinguish two organisms into separate species; difficulties generally arise only when two organisms are highly similar and thus difficult to distinguish.

In addition, the means by which organisms may be differentiated into separate species can vary and does vary depending upon the nature of two organisms that are being distinguished.
