Structure in which karyogamy along with subsequent meiosis occurs for certain fungi.
Those fungi that produce zygosporangia are the zygomycetes. Germination of the zygosporangium gives rise to a sporangium from which spores emerge.
The "zygote" of the zygomecetes is the zygosporangium. The zygote is not a zygote in the traditional sense but instead is a though nonetheless diploid structure that is the product of the fusion (karyogamy) of haploid nuclei.
