Microorganisms found in association especially with healthy organisms, such as animals and plants.

Normal Microbiota generally are those microorganisms that are normally present within a given location when that location has not been disrupted and otherwise does not include those microorganisms whose presence typically will result in such disruption, such as highly virulent pathogens.

Normal microbiota is also found in association with normally functioning environments, e.g., such as the microorganisms found within a sample of unadulterated soil.
