Organismal Ecology

Study of the interaction of species and their environments that focuses especially on physiology, morphology, and other adaptations.

Organism ecology is a very organism- and organism's body-centered perspective on ecology or biology more generally.

Behavioral ecology as well as evolutionary ecology also fall under the heading of organismal ecology. Indeed, to the extent that nearly all of what organisms do is ecological in some manner, what is studied under the heading of organismal biology has substantial overlap with what is studies instead under the more generally as organismal biology.

Organismal ecology also overlaps with population ecology (in terms of adaptations involved in intraspecific interactions), community ecology (in terms of adaptations involved in interspecific interactions), and also ecosystem ecology (in terms of adaptations involved in interactions with abiotic components of environments).
