Determination of percentage of different leukocyte types in a sample of blood.

This is a differential counting of the different granulocytes and agranulocytes.

The following represents a normal differential white blood count from a healthy individual:

• Neutrophils – 60 to 70%
• Lymphocytes – 20 to 25%
• Monocytes – 3 to 8%
• Eosinophils – 2 to 4%
• Basophils – 0.5 to 1%
